On meeting a wild animal friend Frenchys' gentle words were often - "Every time I see your face the world stands still"

FRENCHYS TRIP
The Zebras are dying out, what about the Lions?
Gazelles, Ants, people big and small
Hammering away
Evertime I see your face the world stands still
The world stands still for me so still
We got nowhere else to go
We got nowhere else to go this time

I will meet you I can meet you
She can meet you if you want to
We can spend some time together
Frenchy's trip will last forever

Oh yes there's a number of things
I'd like to discuss with you
I'll meet you round about two

Everytime I see your face the world stands still
The world stands still for me so still
The world stands still
The world stands still for me so still this time

Oh yes there's a number of things
I'd like to discuss with you
I'll meet you round about two

I will meet you I can meet you
She can meet you if you want to
We can spend some time together
Frenchy's trip will last forever
I can meet you I can meet you
She can meet you if you want to
We can spend some time together
Frenchy's trip will last forever
Yea it's Frenchy's trip

The Zebras are dying out, what about the Lions?
Gazelles, Ants, people big and small
Hammering away. Look at the lawn.
Underneath the soil there's so many things
But when I see you I see you

In May 1925 Frenchy Davis began her epic journeys around the World. She was determined to travel from place to place trying to raise awareness about creatures that were being abused or under the threat of extinction. Her original budget for what turned out to be an 8 year trip was Β£100 given to her by her Uncle, Manchester bootmaker Daniel Travis Davis. On her routes over Asia, The Africas and Europe she welcomed many 'travelling companions' who wanted to accompany her. She was a striking and charismatic woman and there was always a waiting list to join her as news of her work and her pleasant company spread. Frenchy lived rough and ready, staying wherever animals were under threat and sometimes living in danger herself from violent opposers. On the 4th of September 1933, after 8 years travelling rough and bringing maximum attention to the plight of our Gazelles, Elephants, Lions, Zebras and many other animals she died peacefully under a waterfall in Zambia with her Marmoset friend 'Piglet' tucked beneath her chin. She was due the next day to give an interview about her life to Ethan Cartwright, a renowned Washington journalist who had travelled to meet her. When her diaries were recovered the last entry read, 'I wish this trip could last forever'. Frenchy Davis set the example to many more of our wonderful activists who, to this day, continue fighting to save Earths' wildlife.
